Our service is a combination of obedience, agility, and socialization. At
the beginning of every walk we start by simple commands such as sit and stay. Every command is rewarded with a treat to mark
the correct behavior. This simple technique is repeated throughout the walk. As we come
to understand each dog, different training methods are use. For example, when a dog is skittish and shy,
there are certain behaviors that must never be encourage.
- They
must never have control of any situation.
- They most always
know their role.
To prevent this shy dog from becoming a fearful aggressive dog, we must desensitize this dog from the
sounds, objects, and situations that trigger nervous reactions by training him through activities that encourage play. If we use harsh obedience, the dog runs the risk of
shutting down and therefore the dog will not be able to move forward in his rehabilitation.
As a result, we always try to
make our walks and any service that we provide as fun as possible. The walk becomes more then a walk when the dog gets the
opportunity to run. Which is why our goal is to be able to have control of the dog while being off-leash. This is a process
that is achieved only when the dog is on a regular weekly schedule. Because we do not charge extra for the extra time and
attention that we spend to achieve our off-leash goal, our service becomes a bargain.
It has being our experience that dogs will gain confidence when they are in groups. As their confidence
grows, they start to overcome many behavioral issues and phobias that have restrain them from been around dogs, people and
places.
